Vijay Eswaran was born in Malaysia on Oct. 7, 1960. He is the Executive Chairman and co-founder of the QI Group. He co-founded QI Group, in 1998, which is an e-commerce that conglomerate with business in corporate investments, training, wellness, luxury products, telecommunications, media, and travel.
The QI Group has branch offices in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. QI Group extended its presence to more than 30 nations through a wide range of companies of subsidiaries. Last year the company managed to generate $750 million in revenue.
Eswaran went to London School of Economics, where he graduated and earned a degree in social economics in the year 1984. He received a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certification in the United Kingdom. He continued studying while still working, and he was introduced to MLM (multi-level marketing) at his job. After graduating, he went back to Malaysia; he was employed to expand MLM operations, Cosway’s.
Eswan is a highly noted motivational speaker. He lectures worldwide on various subjects that range from business to spirituality. He has given speeches in management, business, leading universities, and leadership forums like Commonwealth Business Forums and events of World Economic Forum.
Eswaran is a philanthropist. He established RYTHM Foundation the corporate conscience arm of QI Group, which is involved in the activities of philanthropic worldwide. He established Vijayaratnam Foundation, a charitable organization in honor of his father. Through the foundations, Eswaran initiated community programs, like mentorship, and he also made donations to charities and individuals.
Eswaran’s achievements have made him receive numerous honors. He was given the International Business Excellence Awards from Global Organization for People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) in 2011. In the year 2013, he won Chief Executive Officer of The Year from ASEAN BAC (Asean Business Advisory Council) Malaysia.
During the same year, he was named the twenty-fifth richest person in Malaysia by Forbes Asia. Eswaran received an education entrepreneurship award from ASLI (The Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute) in the year 2014.
